Poker side pot calculator
When one player is all-in for less than the others, the pot splits in two or more. Enter what each player put in and tick anyone who folded. The calculator builds the main pot and each side pot and tells you who is allowed to win which.
How it works
Take every distinct amount anyone put in and sort them from smallest to largest. Each pot is the step between one amount and the one before it, multiplied by the number of players who put in at least that much. Players who reached that level and have not folded can win it. Folded chips stay in the pot but the folder cannot win.
Example: Ana is all-in for 50, Ben for 120 and Cy for 200. The main pot is 50 × 3 = 150, and all three can win it. Side pot 1 is (120 − 50) × 2 = 140 for Ben and Cy. Cy's last 80 is an extra bet nobody called, so it goes back to Cy. Total: 150 + 140 + 80 = 370.
If two pots end up with exactly the same players, we merge them. The totals always add up to what went in.

Common questions
What is a side pot in poker?
A separate pot that forms when a player is all-in for less than the others. The all-in player can only win the main pot; the players who put in more compete for the side pot on their own.
How do you calculate a side pot?
Sort the distinct contributions. Each pot is the difference between a level and the previous one, times the number of players who reached that level. Only players who reached it and have not folded can win it.
What if a player folds after putting chips in?
Their chips stay in the pot, but they cannot win. Tick the folded box and the calculator keeps their chips in the right pots and removes them from the list of who can win.
